This is a somewhat surrealist twist on the witch and her familiar (cat). The face is based on West African masks while the chameleon-like companion represents the malevolent spirit lurking in the background of many African sculptures. The chameleon sliding in and out of the eye sockets was my own contribution to heighten the sensation of menance..
